More than half of people live in cities and the number of urban dwellers increases by about 73 million every year, urban areas account for 70% of the world's country income, thus bringing economic growth and prosperity to many people. The results of this project can be seen in the inclusion of a specific agenda for cities and urban development in the 2030 Agenda, Sustainable Development Goal 11: "Enable cities and human settlements to participate and be safe, secure and protected".
